SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING STRATEGY FOR THE LIGHTMOUNTAIN PROJECT OF ENACTUS KCL, KING'S COLLEGE LONDON. SOCIAL ENTERPRISE, LIGHTMOUNTAIN PROVIDES SUSTAINABLE CLEAN ENERGY AND DURABLE COOKING STOVES TO RURAL COMMUNITIES IN TANZANIA THROUGH THE MEDIUM OF LOCAL WOMEN.
ABOUT LIGHTMOUNTAIN
Light Mountain is a social enterprise created by students from Enactus King’s College London. The main mission is to reduce the harmful effects of indoor air pollution on the health of the people in rural villages and empower women in Tanzania through a sustainable and locally managed system. In addition,
Lightmountain aims to promote a sustainable relationship with the environment, since a significant part of deforestation is due to the unsustainable use of land for wood charcoal production.
To address those issues, Lightmountain has developed locally produced cookstoves made of recycled materials that not only increase cooking efficiency and are affordable to the community, but also reduce toxic emissions and fuel consumption.
Lightmountain stoves are sold by cooperatives of women in 5 villages in Tanzania: Changa, Kiroka, Kivuma, Kibwaya and Mkyuni.
BRAND SLOGAN
"Burudisha Mazingira, Pika Na Sifa''
The brand slogan is in Swahili language, the national language in Tanzania.
It means “Clean the Environment and Cook with Confidence” and aims to emphasise the commitment to provide safe and clean cooking stoves to communities in Tanzania to protect their environment and their people.
